@MickWithChicks -- I'm glad to know that you made it through the fires safely.
Sorry to hear about your hens, and I hope that the injured one pulls through.
Good luck with your flock!
Butterscotchbitesfinger -- I'm a week late, but it's great to hear that the bushfire near you is out! Excellent news!
I hope that more fires will be brought under control soon, and I'm still keeping the people of Australia in my prayers. Stay safe, everyone!
Aussie-Chookmum -- It's great to hear that you're getting rain, and I hope that it keeps up. Hopefully, it will help keep the new fires under control.
Butterscotchbitesfinger -- Great news about the downpour. Are you still getting rain?
Oz chic -- I hope that you get more rain soon. Drizzles...
It's great to hear that the fire in your area has been contained, Butterscotch! I hope that it stays that way, and that more fires are brought under control soon.

Butterscotch -- Sorry to hear about your losses. The rain is excellent news, though! Glad to hear about it, and just as glad to hear that you're safe.

@Muscovy Wunda -- Scary stuff, especially when it's out of control. Well, that was stating the obvious, I guess. Sorry.
Words are wriggly little things, aren't they? (Trying to be funny -- sorry if the timing was horrible.) I worry that I'll say something wrong when I try to comfort someone...
I am so sorry to hear that this is happening. Fire terrifies me, and I get scared when we burn the (self-explanatory) burn pile in our backyard -- I don't think that I could deal with living only ten to fifteen kilometers from a wildfire for any amount of time.
Muscovy Wunda -- I'm sorry for...
