The fenced area is not safe enough for night. But I have a hound dog and a great pyranese that keep an eye out for me. I will post pics in the morning. It’s to dark now.
The coop is in the middle of a fenced in area. I lock them in the coop at night and let them roam in the fenced area during the day. I live in South Carolina and the weather changes on a dime so I used a treat bag with oatmeal to move them quickly into the coop. UNTIL I BUMPED MY HEAD AND SCARED...
It’s okay. You didn’t get me more upset. I just really want to be good at this and I worked everyday for hours with them. It only took one loud noise to undo all that time. I can only imagine how they feel with me chasing them. Do you think this will be back to normal in a couple days?
The coop area is in the middle of the run. It’s pretty safe. I have a dogs that let me know what’s going on. Do you think they will go in when it gets dark with out me? What if they don’t? I am in over my head.
Well... after spending 3 months training my chickens to come into the coop with a treat...I smacked my head of the roof making a loud noise and scared them half to death. Now I can’t get 3 of the 14 in the coop!!!! I’m chasing chickens in 90 degree heat and they are faster than I am! So... here...
