I second the comment on their speed. We call ours “black lightning”.

Good Lord!!! That’s rather unnerving! Maybe time for a chat with the parents? 7 is definitely old enough to learn about an electric fence. I don’t think I would turn it off...

Aawww, poor girlie. It is always so hard on them to be taken away from their mom and siblings and everything they know.... Time for lots of cuddles and hopefully in a few days she’ll be much better!

Oh, and she’s a cutie! Also: if you want a brave dog make a sure you keep her safe while she’s still little, you don’t want her getting scared by lifestock, predators,... Always show her that you have her back!

Best way to train her is to keep her with you so she can watch and see what needs doing, what the rules are, and strongly bond to you. When she is ready she will offer to do some of the work/order keeping she saw is being done by you and other dogs. Make sure she doesn’t primarily bond to the...

The fox might come back after his initial good luck and find the dogs ready to deal with him this time!

I found that metal garbage cans with tight fitting lids work well to cut of the food sources for rodents. We put feed and rice hull bedding in those and after not buying oat hay anymore there is nothing left to attract them now besides shelter. I think it helps.
