As is always the case when I have a question I come to my Wa St peeps.
I want a rooster. Had one that snuck in with my batch a few years ago, but living in the city limits he had to go. Is there a crowless rooster I can get that does well in our climate?
Nice little guys and gals all. I found a good home for five and have five left. Keeping two, will keep all of them if the right home doesn't present itself. unbelievable how good of a mother these Muscovy are.
I have three Muscovy Ducklings. Drake and two females to give away to right home if anyone near me is interested. 8 weeks. Tame. Mom raised. They have had free range and a pond and are not ducks to put in a cage. If you don't have property for them to be ducks they won't be a good fit...
So its been a good month now since I got my Muscovys. They mainly hung around the duck house and my back door. All settled in. Play in the kiddie pool, lounge in the sun. No matter what I did I couldn't get them to walk down the little hill 100 feet to this 1/4 acre creek fed pond on my...
GOATS: I am wanting to add goats, two or three to a 1/2 acre of periodic wet area, soggy. If someone knows about goats and wouldn't mind a few questions....please PM me.
I can't stress enough how much help this Wa. State thread will be to you. I just finished my first year and it went much smoother with them. I don't think there is one single thing you could ask these guys that they don't know. Seriously.
Well since I have nobody else to bother with my new duck pictures, you all get them. I made a rec center while they are in jail and that took about one minute. They seem to like making mud. Ive just learned to accept it.
NOISE: I always try and approach topics with others thinking about the same things. One thing I have learned around here in the last year is that the same issues come up again and again and again. I live right up next to the county line where I could make as much noise as I wanted. I don't...
I can't believe I waited this long to add ducks. What well mannered, polite, additions. I'm not saying my Buff Orpingtons aren't classy, they are. But these Muscovy Ducks are ....well, I am going to equate the lady ducks with ladies in white gloves in a tea room. The are only a year old, yet...
Got my Muscovy ducks today. Many thanks to the Wa State thread for putting me in touch with the right people. Now they get to spend a week in Duck jail to get used to the place but a beautiful pond awaits!
I have one living in the kitchen now for the past couple of weeks. Let her out in the day time to hang with the girls but she now scoots back when the cold bursts and hail comes. Smart girl. Never seen a molt like it. She would have froze. BTW...she likes house living. I made a little cage...
DUCKS: Ok....so I cleared out a good 1/4 acre back behind my main property and there is a nice 30x30 stream fed year round wild pond down there. I thought it would be a nice place for a couple of ducks that need a home. I don't know anything about ducks, but it looks like a nice place to live...
East Grays Harbor county....cars covered with ash.
EDIT.....should have said ash falling, not covered don't want to give the wrong observation. Its sort of like that fine ash that those of us who were around during Mt. St. Helens will remember. Very fine and my wife black car has little grey...
MONTESANO: I'm sure everyone is full up but thought I would ask. Any one in my area in need of a Buff Orpington Rooster six months with perfect manners....let me know. He was my surprise rooster in the lot. I hate to let him go.....but live in the city.
Loves people, dogs, cats....and his...
