That's all well and fine for those who have decent access to it, but most folks do not.

$30 for a 1/2" x 4' x 8' sheathing is not a bad price. T1-11 varies in price depending on the finish(bare, primed, painted).

Exactly what kind of 'plywood' is priced at $30? ......because that doesn't sound so far out of line.
