@CluckerFamily I've cleaned that run exactly once but it had a top and no sides at the time.

oh no, my birds are very people averse. they were giving me shifty eyes and the second I was out of the doorway they ran into the coop to get away from me. lol.

Yeah, I had to crawl through that little door to get an egg from the run today. Otherwise they are currently laying eggs in the corner

@black_cat @CluckerFamily I took pics for yall the covered thing to the left of the coop is temporary in the sense that its gunna sit there for another five years probably and the fence looking thing to the right of the coop is actually temporary

oh! Q #2 is there any actual benefit to having two smaller coops rather than just expanding the existing run to increase capacity?

yknow the green line goes right through the existing entrance door & I didnt even realize it until I read your post a second time

anyway, do you have an updated recommendation on capacity knowing the coop is open air, if I don't change anything

your original green line is still great. just put the black square to the left, door in bottom left corner.

where your blue and red overlap, left half pretty much.

also this whole coop is un-reinforced chicken wire because I didnt build it but it seems like so much work to predator proof it atm.

except the new run has to be at the x because the bottom and right hand side are both driveway

anyway it only has 6 birds in it rn. with roosting room for like 25. lol

I actually suddenly believe its 3.5 of the walls are mesh haha. Idk it's under 2 trees and fairly shady but not dark dark. And then the roosting is above the mesh walls in the peak of the roof. I should take pictures. why am I not just taking pictures?

This is tempting. Oh yeah, I suppose it's relevant that 2.5 of the walls are mesh instead of solid walls, so the coop does get light during the day and they do hang out in both areas.
