Final update and an amazing one!! The vet called and said the lead results were negative which is great. Y’all this girl has recovered just tremendously. The vet said he wouldn’t have bet on her surviving with how bad she looked last week. Her neck is 100% back to normal!! No twisting or hanging...
Another update y’all, I got home and she was standing up and eating like a big girl! And then she started to walk on the hardwood floor which she has been struggling with badly the last few days. I sat on the floor and she walked all the way over to me into my lap!!! She has a little more ways...
We are trying!! Hopefully she can get her footing more stabilized. I am a little concerned there might be some neurological issues left because she still sometimes twists her neck and lays on it in a weird way (she still sometimes lays on her side and has to work to get up). Time will tell!
She has made a LOT of progress since making this post. She is now able to stand up, hold her neck straight and start to walk. She can eat regular feed now and drink water! We are still doing tube feedings for good measure. However, she still seems to be having some spasms. She will flap her...
I will say though, I feel like she has made progress even since I made this post. She is trying SO hard to stand up and she can get on her feet and stay there for a little bit, though she is on a soft surface. Her neck is still twisty and hanging though when she tries. Her baby step progress...

Forgot to address this: she may have gotten into rat poison, but I don’t think it’s very likely. We do put it in the attic of our shed (it’s a pretty big shed, more like a barn lol) so unless it made it’s way down then I’m unsure of how she got it. But anything is possible
I will be adding some electrolytes to the water we’re giving her in addition to vitamins. I doubt there are any leaky chemicals anywhere but we will double check to ensure all of our other girls are safe. This girl is a little over 3 months, so no egg laying yet. We haven’t really been checking...
Thank you so much for your response. I am hoping she will get better slowly but surely since that seems to have been the trend over the last few days. If the test comes back negative then maybe we will see how she is doing as far as recovery goes and make a decision. I don’t want her to have a...
Back again with yet another chicken problem :(. Basically a short novel ahead, I just want to include all of the details in case any one has had a similar experience. Pictures attached.
So on Wednesday I came home from work, went outside to greet the girls, picked up our sweet Speckled Sussex...
