Good job, Michelle! You'll find that poor eyesight isn't an issue after this virgin voyage. Tubing is convenient and far less messy than trying to syringe stuff into the throat. One insertion and the tube is in place to handle everything you need to get into her.

Find the lower part of her crop from the outside, then hold up the bottom of the tube against her crop and make the mark on the tub where her throat is. Then when you insert the tube, don't push it farther down that the mark.
For recalcitrant chickens, I wrap them burrito style in a towel. If she's very combative, an ACE bandage around the towel will secure her even better. The chicken will not try to struggle when they sense their limbs are immobilized.
