Just a reminder of our monthly farm swaps.

There are usually some available at our farm swap. I don't know how close you are but we have the farm swap on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays monthly.

Next week Saturday Feb. 13th is our first farm swap for February.

A pet carrier will work fine. Some people use them. Don't worry there will be a lot of people there and usually someone will have a net. I usually have one too. There are very few escapees and if they do escape they will get caught, lots of help.

I had a couple of snakes try to go through my fencing. I have electric wires around the coops and pens. When they tried to go over the wires they were electrocuted. I was surprised. Many predators have made contact with the wires, they learn and don't attempt it again.

I have had a lot of practice. I had my first flock around 50 years ago. I have seen snakes around here too. I have a brooder for my chicks that nothing gets into. I have a chick/grow-out coop that nothing gets into.
