Hey everyone! It's that time of year again. If you haven't heard, I changed the name of the Cache Valley Backyard Chicken Rendezvous to the Utah Poultry-Palooza and have move it down to Farmington this year. It will take place next weekend, April 27th. So far we have 30 vendors. Deadline for...
Cynthia, how did your Trader Joe eggs go? We tried those out for a New Year hatch after taking a few months break from hatching. No luck with ours! We only ended with a single little black Ameraucana chick from those that we put in.
Thank you, Sundance, for all your help today! It was greatly appreciate! Those pups... Adorable! And thank you for all the birds you sent us home with. I think that boy and our white frizzle girl are going to make such cute babies! I can't wait to see how those ayam cemanis turn out. :)
We have not had good luck at the one up here. We went often last year while we were building coops. Never found anything of use and eventually gave up. All the windows they had when we went were way too big.
We stopped by IFA in Igden to visit the chicks yesterday. Already the 2nd time visiting this season! Lol. I have too many chicks as it is though. Hatched 4 isbars yesterday and hatching some of my barnyard mixes today and tomorrow. One of the silkies I hatched in Dec took in the new babies...
This year's Chickenstock will be on May 7th at the Idaho Falls fairgrounds. :D It may be called something different. It's a different group of people running it than last year.
Happy new year!
Still waiting on my NYD chicks to hatch. Come on guys! Most are from Lisa - silkie/SG and 3 F1 OEs - and then a few silkies from a friend on the FB page.
Also broke down and bought some fertile eggs from Trader Joes to try to hatch for fun.
My Welsummer from Grey Bird...
RJ they've been doing great in the garage. I have a trio of each (the birchens and the brown reds). I really need to scale down and plan to put them on KSL again. Hoping to get them sold before the holidays in case we get talked into heading to NM or CA to visit family for the holidays.
RJ, I still have all my modern games and I'm worried about them, too. They've been garage birds since I got them. First it was for their quarantine period and then it got cold so they've stayed. :( Oh how I'd love to put my van in the garage but tigers just too many birds in it right now.
So ridiculously excited! I'm getting a new incubator for my birthday/Christmas present! :D Sometimes it pays to have both of those on the same day. ;) I love my Brinsea Mini Advance but it only fits 7 eggs at a time so I'm getting the Brinsea Octogon 20 Advance! :D They are currently on sale...
I'll see if I can get a pic of them together later. They look like they are completely different breeds. The splash is an English Orp. The person I got her from, I think, said she was from Ewe Crazy.
Wow that sounds like so much fun! Congratulations on your birds! So exciting! What did you end up buying? How did the modern games go? I should have sent the MGs I picked up with you! This one rooster, the one that one first place here, is such a jerk. :(
Lockdown for silkie eggs tonight! :D Can't wait to see what cord come out! 6/7 of the eggs I set are going into lockdown and the 7th never started. Ohhhh! Can't wait!
The 4 little seramas I hatched from Sundance are so cute! All are looking to be frizzled and 1 is very obviously a boy. Here's...
