This is what we ended up doing to separate them, cardboard and dog crate door lol.
The poor older chicks are even more cramped now but we got our coop started and will hopefully have it done this week to move them into and the little chicks will have the brooder to themselves for a bit more.
I was able to block them into a small section of the brooder so they are safe for now. Will have to think of something else in the morning since it's a little cramped but at least the other chicks can't peck at them. :)

I bought 2 more chicks today. Evidently I can't resist cute baby chicks either lol. But the problem is I only have 1 brooder and the older chicks are pecking at them. I'm trying to figure out how to separate them.
