Sure we aren't related? Like maybe cousins long lost or something? That sounds like something that would happen to me. Ah for the good old days where you use to get in your car, drive to the business, hand them your neatly filled out order form and then two weeks later they would call you and...

I know the feeling. I just checked the incubator and already I'm talking to the eggs. Then turned to my husband and said I needs fluffy butts! He knows me. He just shook his head and went back to the computer. It's going to be a long 19+days.

I was in the local Orschelns today and asked them when they were getting chicks in and they said the first of March. My plan is to pick up a few vaccinated bantam chicks from them, hopefully not Silkies and get lucky enough to get at least two roosters to add to my flock. The plan is to cross...

Temps here start to moderate by the end of March. 3 more months and we haven't really had any winter yet. It's been very mild and dry. I'm call it Falter, Not Fall and not Winter. I hate it. I cannot imagine dealing with young ducks right now. I have one little pullet that gets a wild hair...

I had broodies off and on all spring and summer bless their little feathered hearts. And I kept shoving eggs under their fluffy little butts. DH told me I never had to worry about Marek's taking all of my chickens because my chickens were always self replicating more chickens for me. He's...

Same here. I think they are calling for snow....our first measurable....sometime this weekend. Maybe enough to have a white Christmas. Frankly, I have 40 some odd young Bantams that have never seen snow and I'm dying to see their reaction to it!

Yep same here. Summer here is so freaking hot that if you don't get things outside done by 10 AM you are pretty much done for the day until evening temps cool things off a bit. Usually things here are also pretty brown by September but we have had just enough rain to keep things green. We have...

We have had a few days with lows in the mid 40s but highs are still in the mid 80s. It's kind of mother natures wake up call to get moving on outdoor projects before she smacks us up longside the head with cold temps. Everything is still remarkably green here for September.
