I have a covered run that has increased my coops available space since I free range as well, so it's kinda like a part of the coop. I guess a coop and run are anything you want them to be. It's what keeps poultry keeping so diverse and interesting. Everyone can do things their own way.

My coop is a large 40x40 shed. A coop is anything that houses chickens or other poultry. A run is an attached fence used to confine birds to an area. That's my description. :)
