I am almost certain the breeder who gave me this freebie (uh-oh cross) said mallard x runner. Can anyone let me know if I am correct? Also, I have new pictures of "Ruth" that are better quality than the last post where the sex of him/her was uncertain.

I notice Ruth's tail is starting to curl slightly. Not a whole lot, but certainly enough to worry me. Ruth also has a raspy quack. Nothing loud. It's whispery like the males I've watched on youtube.

I will keep Ruth (renamed Barry if it is a he) no matter what. I will just have to get him another girl or two to keep him satisfied. I only have a muscovy female. I know crossing the two would create a sterile bird. I will not hatch these ducks, I just want to keep him satisfied enough to not go after my chickens for a booty call

What are your thoughts? We have grown a little attached, so either way he/she is safe.

Looks like a runner X mallard cross to me. He is defiantly a boy.

Im pretty sure she knows its a runner X cross mallard (cause thats what she got it as), I think what shes wondering is if its a drake. And im 100% sure thats a drake.
