Catalog's are still in the printing stages - Anyone who wishes further info can PM me here.

I am so there! Now if my birds would only agree with me...
Maybe I can win the 50/50 again....
Or another best of breed would be nice.....
Hope to see everyone soon!

I made arrangements to be off work to drive 4 hours to a poultry show, some would call me crazy but I am among friends here ;) We will be bringing Serama and pigeons. The chickens are easier than the pigeons to travel with. Are premium lists up yet??

I shall be going as well! This will be my first time going and maybe dragging my mom along will warm her up to getting chickens! There's bound to be some nice RIRs there, which is really good as that's my mom's soft spot for chickens. She had some RIRs when she was a child, the one that lasted the longest and she has the most memories of was a hen named Bitty. So I'm hoping that some RIR/plain chicken loving at this show will lead to the long awaited Bitty the Second and others.

Delaware, Roberta (stoopid) and I both came to Delmarva - I think her trip was five hours or more! So, it's only fair that you return the favor!

Loki, you never know what you'll find in the sale area, but I have very rarely seen exhibition reds there - they are pretty rare. You may find some production birds, however, or some hatchery birds, which are more than fine if you're just starting out. Find me and I'll give your mom every reason to want chickens - but start getting your coop ready now!!

Catalog is about ready for printing. There were some holdups with getting info from others, plus there was a hang-up with some of the judges because of the Little Rhodie (?) show being the next day.

The judges are: Daniel Dysart, Va; Glenn See, Va; Tom Roebuck, Va; and Paul Gilroy, MD.

Don't know who's judging what.

Still have 11 birds on my list. I won't jinx myself by mentioning which ones. I swear, they can tell whose name I'm typing and immediately molt to avoid the bath and the trip.

For those staying overnight - like me - I can personally recommend the Homewood Suites in Dover.

Good prices, a beautiful place, and right next to the mall, a huge movie theater (Avengers, anyone?) and Wal-Mart, Shop Rite, and Target. Even when I think I've not forgotten anything, I forget something, and I'm very glad to have those stores there and open early in the morning! There's also the regular mall-type restaurants nearby. They allow pets, but for a pretty high fee, however, I'm going to call and ask about chicks in cages, because it may be too cold for my chicks in the car all night. I get the 1-bedroom with a sleeper sofa in the living room, because my friend splits the room with me, and I stay up late.

Donna from Delware here again . . . I really appreciate you coming down here. I love your show and wouldn't miss it. I am supposed to be picking up a pair of Dutch Bantams. Talk about hard to find!! I am excited there will be a meet there for them. Maybe I can come home with more than 1 pair. See everyone in May!! Happy Easter.

We love the Delmarva Show! What a great hall with the bright lights and the wide aisles. I picked up a very nice JG pullet there - I may show her at ours. This time, we discovered the casino buffet - yum! Then on the way home, a great trip to TSC - as my friend Steve and I are frequently the only other chicken people at our respective feed stores, it was great being "one of the crowd!"

At Sussex, I hope to have some extra LF Faverolles to sell - but, I'm counting my chickens before they hatch, literally. I have sixteen eggs, half under a broody and half in the incubator. At a 50% hatch rate, that gives me eight. At a 50/50 male female rate, that gives me four girls - which is exactly what I'm after. Of course, by saying that, I just jinxed myself.

Now it will be eight boys, or more than the four girls I have room for - if the latter, which girls do I let go?? Hatching is very stressful for me. The eggs only just started cooking a few days ago, and I'm already counting the hours!

Still have eleven on my show list. My form is filled out, waiting until the last minute in case someone molts on me.
