My Coop
My Coop
Well the chickens and Guineas finally moved in last Saturday. It took weeks longer to build that it was supposed to, but most due to bad weather. Everyday when my husband would get home and it would start to cool off, it would start to thunder and then turn into a storm. That happened most of this month.
Here is the chicken tractor we build to put them in till the coop was done.

Then we started the coop and I tried to get everything painted during the day before the rain came. It is 8' x 12' with 8' walls.

The window was tacked up temporarily and the roofing was going on. Plus I finished all the painting.

I know it is hard to see, but most of the chicken wire is up and I painted it black so it kind of disappears.

Here is the back with the opening for the clean out door.
You can also see how thin that metal roofing is until you get all the framing up for support.

Here is the door we made. I love the 8" inch threshold under the door. This is so I do not have chickens following me out.

Closer picture of the door.

My son Mike did all the scroll work for me. I just told him what I wanted.
Suns.

Rooster heads.

Rooster tails.
