Hey there! I got some new Splash Ameracauna chicks the other day and I'm having a hard time telling if they are male or female. They are approximately 4 weeks old. Their beaks and nostrils look abnormally large to me but maybe that's just the breed. What do you guys think?
Chick 1
Chick 2
So I have a few cream legbar crosses were not too sure who the daddy is...
And we've got 5 cute babies however we are very unsure of whether this baby is a male or female.
This is a then and now picture :)
Can anyone help out please? :)
I have 1 Olive Egger, 1 Black Maran, & 1 Blue Maran Pullets. They are 6 & 7 weeks old ( they look a little younger to me to be honest). According to the person I got them from, they are all Pullets. But, I just don't feel confident that they are all Pullets. Anyone think one of these guys is a...
These were supposed to be pullets, my stepmom showed up with two just hatched April 13th (happy birthday to me!). I have no idea breed, but everyone keeps saying roosters. Can anyone tell? Please and thank you all!
My stepmom showed up with two just hatched chicks for my birthday present April 13th. I had every intention of getting more of the black star sexlink that I have, but, now I have these. He says one is a roo. Either way, I love them already. Can anyone help?
Hey everyone!! Just wanted to start off by saying, long time no see! If anybody is curious as to why I haven't been on BYC for a while/ where my sister has gone, shoot me a DM! Anyway, yesterday we got chicks from Tractor Supply. We have one Americano, and she's mine! I'm actually not sure what...
My 19 week old Australorp “pullet” is starting to get some VERY saddle-looking saddle feathers compared to the other two pullets (all hatch-mates). I thought she was a pullet for sure, given the three other hatch mates that turned out to be cockerels were very distinctly cockerels by 8 weeks...
I believe this is a female but am not completely sure. It is definitely sassy and bold. It hangs with the roosters mainly and today I noticed he/she grab a hen by the back of her neck and try to mount her..... kind of. It just slipped off the hens back but kept holding her down. It is the...
I’ve got two suspicious looking 15 week old birds here and I’d love to hear your thoughts.
These birds were raised by a hen, I am not sure what breeds they are mixed with. I got them at 12 weeks and they are now nearly 16 weeks. There has been no fighting or crowing but they are both at the...
Pretty sure I know the answer but always good to get another’s opinion. They’re almost 5 weeks old but have pretty prominent bright combs and wattles already coming in. One seems to be getting more tail feathers like my buff orpington ladies. One cockerel we can handle but two I’m sure will lead...
Hey! I have 3 Polish chicks that I am questioning.
Hennifer is the buff/yellow one (first 2 images). She has a very round bouffant so I thought she was a girl, but she's growing some red bits on her face that are making me question everything.
My last two are silver laced polish, I thought they...
Hi everyone! I’m a relatively new chicken dude who has had a terrible “rooster rate” (67%!) from a local farm store here in Sonoma County. As you guys know, roosters are tough to find homes for. Anyway, after a few weeks, we began to notice two of the three chicks we bought began exhibiting...
Hello! I have 3 Black Australorp pullets — or so I think. They’re just about 7 weeks old. One may be moonlighting as a roo. It’s comb and wattle are redder than the other two and this morning I swear I heard an attempt at a crow. Then again...maybe it was just clearing its throat! :confused...
Honestly this is just for fun--I'm already pretty sure what's what but I'm gonna post these babies anyways because @Overo Mare needs more Cochin pics in her life!
So these are some babies that my broody Cochin got to 20 days, then I panicked and tried to move her to a safer area and she didn't...
Hi there. Here is my now 8 week old Olive Egger mix. S/he is SO friendly. I used to think s/he was a boy, but then her/his comb stopped progressing ahead of the other chicks.
And now, her/his tail feathers look a bit pointy to me, and I’m not sure I can rule out that this chick is a boy. What...
