Hello Ya’ ,

Just blowing off steam ,

what started out as a hobby last winter with a newly builded chicken coop 12 x12 x8 and 3 separated –n- different out side runs for a few chickens for dual purpose , ----Fresh eggs and meat has gotten out of control and has Infected me and my life with the disease of “Chicken Fever “ what started out as a few dual propose birds (12 ) with a few meat birds (12)and a couple of pairs of fancy bantams / Japanese chickens ,and 20 asst. turkeys has turn out to the most outrageous and extreme condition with this disease !!!!What I though I would end up with next season was say 6 or so dual propose chickens and my fancy bantams / Japanese chickens the rest would have been in the freezer for the colder months coming .
All this has turn out Bad as me wife says , cuz every time she turns around I have newly eggs being hatch in the inbator from my own stock , 18 hatchings that are 2 weeks old ......... 12 more newly day old purchase hatching chickens being b0ught due in by the end of the month , al0ng with 20 m0re newly purchase meat bird----- X-R0CK ‘S due at the same time ...............

Yep Chicken Fever ,I have ................I need to get my butt in gear get ½ the turkeys and 8 0r so chickens to the butcher shop , start the new and 2nd chicken coop builded before the cold weather is due ,

Me Wife says she draws the line ...............no way all these chicks are staying in the basement this WINTER ......LOL

If I don’t get some of the older birds to the butcher shop and the newly hatch along with the new arrivals I will have well over 80 plus duel propose chickens – close to 25 fancy bantams / Japanese chickens......20 asst. Turkeys........roughly 20 quails and 25 meat birds ................................................
..............Da FEVER ....help .........I GOT IT BAD ......................

Yes Fever 4 Sure , but before Da Chickens -n- Turkeys it was Koi Fever that started out 7 years ago and is still here to only I have not build my new koi pond as of yet see we just move here -in the country 2 yrs ago now I have 3.5 acres of land , before I live in the city with a back yard was only 40' x 150' in which I build my koi pond 24' x 8.5 ' by 6 ' deep to 3' deep which was a total of 6500 gallons with the filter system.

my new plans that has been drawn up for the new pond which I hope to start building next yr 2009 in the beginning of spring will be a very large pond or as my wife said a MINI LAKE 24' x 24' x 7' deep ruffly 30,250 gallons plus a 5000 gal. filter system and a 15 foot high x 18 foot round base waterfall in which part of the filter system will be inside the hill of the waterfall (OUT OF SIGTH)

Just thought I'd offer some advice cause it never occurred to me until I had to start "borrowing" freezer space from friends... make sure you have enough room in the freezer to store it all! Between meat storage for the pigs and steers here, and my friend's mother's cornish broilers and turkeys, we've run out of space to keep it all before I can get to cooking, lol. Been trying to convince 'em to go buy another full sized freezer with no luck thus far.

Thanks , for the added advice
and yes -one full size upright freezer in basement, 3 full size Refrigerators with freezer s, one in basement-need space for my beers ,another one in my 20’ x 40’ barn/garage more beer space lol , plus the one in the kitchen that’s the wife’s LOL

PLUS it seems I will end up giving some to both my son and daughter and the in-laws so I think I’m covered if I butcher 20 meat birds, 8 turkeys and a 12 chickens this first time around before winter sets in

But thanks my wife reminded me of this also LOL

So how many different types of chicken dishes can my wife make, MMMMMMM
I think it’s going to be a long chicken winter

That sounds so very wonderful Al, I have always wanted a "mini lake" for the wildlife, but my husbands says no, because I would want it in one of our fields..boo hoooo, cant wait to see the pics next year!
