Ok everyone, I'm going to add a few new smileys, but I'm doing this in stages until we get full blown new smiley support.

So, what are your favorites? I'll add the highest voted top 10 smilies chosen by you!

Here's how we are going to do this: Please choose from the list of smilies available on the ezboard forum found here: http://p072.ezboard.com/bbackyardchickens.showEmoticonsHelp

Choose your top smilies and post their "text" or smiley code into your post. Please don't choose more than 10 and make your reply / votes look just like this format:

Again, you can only vote for a max of 10 smilies and the code must match what is on ezboard for your vote to count. Once the votes are all in I'll tally them up and add them to the forum!

DLH, on the following link to the ezboard page there is a column called "text". To the left of every "Emoticon" there is a code that represents that smiley. http://p072.ezboard.com/bbackyardchickens.showEmoticonsHelp

Find the top 10 smilies at the page and then enter the code / text for that smiley in the format Terrie and I used above.

I'm not going to add all of the ezboard smilies right now for a few reasons:

1) I'm going to maintain a very clean and user friendly forum... more is not always better. "Once in a while" smiley images can always be posted using the tags. The smileys that will be built into this forum will be ones that are used the most often.

2) I'm still waiting on getting better smiley support built into the forum. This topic is just a first step in getting new smilies quickly available.

BTW, as you can see in mudhen's post two of the smilies are already available on this forum.

Also, some of the codes may need to be changed edited, but I'll work all that out.

Basically, I had to remove it from the "main smiley menu" but you can still add it by calling the code

Becky, I just edited the tea smiley code so you can call it using the word tea with a colon before the word, but you don't need the colon after the word. Make sense?

In the spirit of CC and you asking for feedback, the following: ... yes...there are several smileys/emotes that are rarely used/not associated with particular members as an almost "signature" in their posts which could probably be left out and not missed...but ten??? I assure you that if you look through the posts on any forum you will see what I mean and I recall that emotes were big on the question list during the big "chat pow wow" .

Once again in the spirit of feedback (and since most members are not posting here/prefer the ezboard forum setup> ... you might ask why) ...what is for you a clean and user friendly forum is to many others restrictive in their ability to create a "personality" within the confines of text which limits their "user experience". JMHO​
