My chickens began laying the first Sunday of this month. Another new layer the next Sunday, and finally, FINALLY a 7-month-old pullet began today. On a Sunday. No joke, I began expecting new layers only on Sundays after the second time.
Since the incubator is running, it only seemed natural to put the eggs in my hand into the incubator. I stopped just in time!
I’m only looking to work on quail math.

Do you just use a tote for brooders? Any thoughts on clear versus opaque sides? Do they want to be able to see out?

I prefer clear sides because I like to see in, but I don't think the birds really care as long as they have places to hide.

I feel much less hoarder-ish now. I have 41 birds fewer now than I did this time yesterday. Sold 25, sent 16 off to freezer camp. I sent 16 off to freezer camp a couple of weeks ago too. I'm down to my two pens of regulars and 24 grow outs.
