āž” Quail Hatch AlongšŸ„š

Iā€™m not kidding you! At first it was just one, but then a second started! I thought he was just a fluke, so I picked it up, and put it back down. Nut boy, how were you storing the older eggs? I saw some that looked awfully full.
On the table to facilitate open pollination, of course.

The juveniles could have matured early. Each of the QB#9 wild colored males bloodied a female today. I separated them with their own set of girls 2 days ago and they still got aggressive. I put them into a separate coop and they went after each other. Now in solitary while I ponder their fate. Aggressiveness is not tolerated.

The badly scalped girl is in the frig. The other one is bald with eyes swollen shut from last night. She can recover. We are not amused. The scalped girl was in the 8' coop, so plenty of room to run. 5 total birds in there. 4 females and the offending male.

The best laid schemes oā€™ mice anā€™ men
Gang aft a-gley,
Anā€™ leaā€™e us nought but grief anā€™ pain,
For promised joy.
-To a Mouse, written by the Scottish poet Robert Burns
