Honestly I feel lost right now. My motivation has hit rock bottom and decided to dig deeper.

I thought he was getting better but I came home from school and he was crying out the entire time he was greeting me. He hasn’t gotten enough glucosamine over the past couple of days because we’ve run out and I’m guessing he’s been pushing himself too far.

Sorry about school, that is tough. How old is Ruger? Offer still stands to help get him to a vet!

I know how you feel. Kinda feel like I’m drowning.
It’s hard to stay motivated when working my ass off has already shown minimal results.

I’m sorry about Ruger. Remember that discs and pinched nerves take a long time to heal. He might need steroid shots before you see results.

Go adopt from a shelter, and spay and neuter your animals.

It wouldn’t be homeless if I adopted it.

But okay, I admit that sounded really bad.....

I don’t really actually wish that, I know there are already a ton of homeless animals and they suffer enough, so I guess it was a pretty dumb thing to say if I don’t actually wish or mean it, but what I actually meant was just that I kinda wish like just one would appear so I could rescue it or something like that. I don’t want more homeless animals or tons of them running around or anything like that. I just always see people finding/rescuing the perfect dog or puppy or like there was just a thread about some homeless ducks someone took in, and a friend in Wisconsin had a kitten dumped on their property they took in, and none of that ever happens to me. I guess it is a good thing that there are not many or any strays or irresponsible people dumping animals here, there is a reason so many of our adoptable animals are shipped up from the south, but at the same time, it’d be cool to have the perfect animal fall into my lap. I guess that’s probably a better way of putting it. I don’t want more homeless animals but it’d be nice if the perfect animal could just fall into my lap like it does to some people. But I guess if I want to rescue an animal, there’s more than enough rescues and shelters and such to adopt from. But so many of those have such strict or strange requirements and since we don’t have a fence, we’d probably never get approved anyway. Plus I’ve been looking but just haven’t found the perfect one yet. And I was gonna buy from a breeder but I’m still conflicted on that because there’s so many homeless ones I feel like I should adopt instead. But I haven’t been able to find the perfect dog to adopt so I might still go the other route but they are so expensive too. But it’s not the right time for a dog anyway so I’m putting it on hold. Focusing the quail and chickens first.

But anyway, I guess it was kind of a dumb thing to say, but it was more of a thought/wild idea rather than a serious want anyway. Of course I don’t want more homeless animals. But it has been nearly impossible to find the perfect dog and some people are lucky having the perfect one just fall into their lap. It would make things a lot easier if that were to happen, that’s for sure. And it wouldn’t be homeless if I rescued it.

And all of my animals are already spayed and neutered and always will be. I have zero desire to let my animals run around willy nilly and reproduce or make a million homeless babies. That wasn’t what I was saying. Although that said, even if they weren’t fixed, they still wouldn’t reproduce because I’d be very careful about managing them. And even fixed, I still don’t let them run around, because they could be hit by a car or otherwise injured or killed.

That said, I only have Luna (a cat) right now but she is spayed and Gator (dog) was neutered as were the two dogs and cats before him.

Of my brother’s/FSIL’s dogs, Libby is spayed and was spayed when they got her at 12 weeks old, and Franklin is still intact but they’re waiting until he’s at least a year, possibly 18 months, old, because we neutered Gator way too early and he had a lot of problems because of it, and we’ve, especially me, done a lot of research to support waiting. But he’s always on a leash or in a fenced yard and has an amazing recall and obedience; he’s so sweet, obedient, and well behaved, so they’re not worried about him. He was born in June so he’s 9 months old right now and will probably be fixed in the fall after summer is over and it cools down a bit so he can be on the boat or beach or doing other fun things and not have to be cooped up to recover in the best part of the year.

But they are very responsible and would never let him go galavanting around. If he starts wanting to roam or be disobedient or find females, he will be neutered sooner. But he is so sweet I don’t foresee a problem.
