Went out to the lighthouse and hawk watch area on Tues. when it was cool, overcast, and drizzly. Monarchs were not flying.

Sour are you back already? I didn't think you left yet. Heard on the grapevine Princess wants a new dog/puppy? Maybe I imagined it.

Did see lots of swans and other waterfowl. It's early in the migration, but there were significant hawk numbers on their 'hawk board'. They have daily totals, monthly totals, annual totals, and 'highest ever totals'. They even spot an occasional golden eagle. Perhaps they breed in Canada ?

That's cool. I've never seen a wild swan or an eagle. What type(s) of swans and waterfowl did you see?

I would guess that they were mute swans - must have seen 50 of them. Wood ducks, mallards, Canada geese were birds that I could identify. I did not have binoculars.

We here the ducks fly over but do not stop here no water feature here either ..

We live under the Pacific Fly way and started hearing Geese fly over last week

One of the hotsy totsy rich suburbs has a pond/lake whatever with two black swans. Wow are they majestic.
