Here is a video that shows how much smaller the 1 silkie is

Also you can hear the way she constantly chirps. She chirps like that....almost constantly. She is doing better today it seems more active.

I made a larger brooder today out of a wardrobe box

So the new one is 4x2x2. I plan to move the bigger 3 chicks in there tomorrow.

What I'm debating about is either just keeping the 2 silkies in the smaller brooder.....

OR

The co-op just got in more silkies- I'm considering getting a day old to keep w/ the runt so that she has someone closer to her size to grow up with. All my other chicks are 3 weeks old now- I'm not sure if that's too much of an age difference?

Well those two are silkies /bantam size birds so I expected them to be smaller

It's just that 1 of them is about 1.5 weeks behind in size/ development.

I'm going to seperate the two silkies today so that they can grow a bit more and not worry about getting stepped on. :)

Heres my little sickipoo. I got her to take some water from a spoon and Ive seen her drink on her own, and eat some. Hopefully she'll be fine and not effected with laying. I redid the brooder today too and added some play sand. I found it in the barn and its still chilly so I put a piece of cardboard in there so she has a warm floor is she needs it for now. Now I'll feel better giving them some treats too (grit) and they can really scratch their little hearts out. I made a little roost out of a hanger too. They are so cute giving themselves little dust baths. They sound very happy.

Hi Ladies:

How did your chirpy little ones fare? Was just scrolling thru & didn't see a follow up. I'm guessing that no news turned out to be good news & that everyone's healthy now, yes?
