I made my first mistake when I got chicks from TS. ugh! 2 were meat birds and 1 is a roo. They were supposed to be 6 laying hens. With that said I'm in NJ and I got them mid April. I have 2 Astrolorps and 1 EE (I think) and of course the roo. One of the Astro's is laying eggs, about 4 eggs a week, and she has been doing that for about 3 weeks now, no one else is laying. Is there something wrong.. they all seem fine but not laying. Does anyone have any suggestions. They are eating Layer feed and I have extra calcium & grit on hand all the time. I'm patiently waiting for more eggs!

Different breeds, and even different individuals, mature at different speeds.

One year I got a dozen female chicks (a variety of breeds) in late June. The first one started laying the end of November, then every few weeks one more would start, with the slowest of all waiting until April!
