A couple of months ago, I found a hidden nest with 20 eggs in my rosemary hedge. Sadly, only two hatched after moving them to a secure location, and new Mom (Rosemary) abandoned them. 2 weeks ago, we found she and a friend were up to their old tricks, 21 eggs in the same place. I have 10 new babies today! Rosemary and her 'midwife' are Belgium Antwerp Quails. Daddy's are either: Antwerp's & New Hampshires. The babies were even feasting on grasshoppers the Mom's were catching! I have water out for them, and as tempted as I am to 'lock them up' in the run, I think I will let the mama's do their job. I think they've done great so far! These mama's arrived as day-old chicks on Valentine's day.... Yippee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
