Just hatched 15 out 15 black silkies. 14 of them hatched out on day 18 and the last one is coming out today on day 20. kind of excited as my rooster is now sick and not doing good. They were hatched in a sears redwood incubator i picked up for $75 earlier this year. I was a little concerned cause I am not the most vigilant egg turner and many days they were only turned twice.

Question for the ignorant: I thought chickens were 21 days, give or take a day. Do silkies hatch more quickly or were you just cooking yours on convection? (ha ha)

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I am not sure why they hatched so early. I was getting ready to turn them thr last time before lockdown and noticed a bunch of pips.
