Hi! I think I have a 12 day old bielefelder cockerel acting like he’s crowing. I thought the noise was another chick murdering him. When I checked my chick cam there he was, standing tall, head up giving 7-8 loud chirps while slightly flapping those tiny tiny wings- so stinking cute!!! :jumpy
I will try to get a video with my phone if I can (can’t save recordings from the chick cam).
It has to be unusual for a chick this young crow. Anyone else see this behavior?

EDIT: video linked.

He acts like he’s chirp- crowing but..he’s really pooping! So, big man-chick wants to let the whole flock know he made a stinky. Good chickie, Spatch🥰

It is a sight to see. Some breeds are precocious, cockerels crowing at very early ages. Serama bantams are such a breed; just a few days old! Do show a video if you can. It is "...so stinking cute!!"

My rooster started crowing at about two weeks of age as well. Very small crows mind you, but apparently male enough for the other cockerels to get jealous.
Right!?! Mine is the runt of all chicks, but ALL male. Lil guy doesn’t have more than 2 sprouts on his tail, but crowing like cock of the walk! I love my lil Spatch

a post from 2020 mentioned an early crowder, another bielefelder. I will have to ask about it on the biel thread.
