I have a single chick that mom abandoned and I had a feeling from the start that he was male. His legs are thick and the tip of his cone is starting to turn pink. Mom is a black langshan/buff orphington mix and dad is an olive egger. I swear I think I've heard him try to crow already. It's like a high pitched "chirp"... thoughts?

A small part of me was still holding out hope. Don't know what I'm gonna do, can't have 2 roosters. Ugh. She hatched one egg and it's a boy :(

Aww, I know what your feeling right now. I rescued four chicks on Easter, and three are cockerels:(
