Well shes done it again!!! she laid an egg on Saturday.
Goldilocks is the only hen here who lays white eggs.
The silkies are all on nests and cant get to the place where she laid. The other black hen lays brown eggs.
So this egg belonged to Goldie.
She is something very special. I really want to get her recognised by some organisation. She deserves a trophy.

Wow 16 years old and laid an egg, what a special girl you have there. heck to have a chicken that has made it to 16 is special in a class all its own. You must have a chicken fortress to keep her safe from predators all these years.

    Way to go Goldie!

I had a game hen, Emma, who layed a dozen eggs during the week of Easter, and died a spry old age of 12...so I can feel your pride!

When I saw your post I thought surely you meant 16 weeks. But I took a look at your blog page and you really do mean 16 years. I'm in shock and awe - didn't know they could live that long. Any info I've found says several years tops. I'll have to show this to my husband. Again, all I can say is "Wow" she really does need to be documented.
