    Thanks for your replies. Yes, I agree about them being happy and content. I told my husband that if they were all that they would lay wonderful, good eggs. He said they will probably be the size of an ostrich egg. [​IMG]

    Very nice, but your Mr. Speckles looks like a girl to me, LOL. Seventeen weeks old? You know that's a pullet, right? Or is he the one bending over, showing his tailfeathers? Pretty birds!

    Yeah I was thinking the same thing...Mr. Speckles does look like a girl. Does he/she crow? I think at 17 weeks he should be crowing. I really think you have a lady there.

    how old before they start to crow? I brough my chicks home on good friday, though I am not hearing much (really any) noise. Probably a good thing as I was suppose to get 9 girls, being I already had a rooster, but I think I have 4 boys and 6 girls.
