I have three lavender orps (two that may or may not be roos) 2 barred rock and two black chicks that we think may be australorps. All the wattles and combs are getting bright red. Does that mean I can start looking for eggs soon? And can lavender orpington hens have big wattles and combs like some other types of hens?

At 17 weeks, its kind of early for them to start laying......though the bright combs/wattles are normal at this stage i think.
most hens start laying between 20-25 weeks, though all chickens are different.
I know that 'buff' orpington hens dont have big combs/wattles, so i doubt lavender orps do either
