When I was a kid we always did the "snatch and swap" game with our broody hens. Wait til hen is asleep, snag eggs, replace with live babies, and voile, proud mama and chicks! This time we are using ready-to-hatch eggs rather than just-hatched peeps and candled just prior to putting under momma to ensure viability. Anyone out there ever tried this method before and, if so, to what end? I live in East TN and am kinda worried about it being too cold for the little ones once they pop out - should I move mom and clutch inside before the big day? This is my first post, sorry if I sound like a goober [IMG]

    Thanks all!

Mama will keep them warm, just let her do her job. I'm in East Tennessee as well and I have 2 broodies with chicks due any day.
