1st egg from my young hens

I've been telling everyone that my new batch of hens would start laying in september (they'd be 20 weeks old then). Well I thought I would be wrong after all and then tonight I found a pullet egg. Its the 30th so I was right its still September after all. So here is my wonderful first egg from one of my new girls (and its a perfect egg, big for a first egg and a perfect egg shape too).

What is it about chicken eggs that makes us go ga-ga? Honestly, we're like new mothers when our babies lay their first eggs. HA!!!
