After a long hot summer I always look forward to fall and it cooling down but when the first frost comes it's kind of like "here we go again". We were still getting okra and peppers from the garden but that will be the end of them. On a good note the collards always get better after a frost. The fire place is nice but running the heat pump isn't. and I hate frozen waterers. lol Hopefully a mild winter is on the way

We got our first frost here several weeks ago...here being Central KY.

Funny story...I recently ran water to my barn but never *quite* got around to filling the trench back in. I put it off and put it off, and kept having other things get in the way of getting it done. But then I flushed the toilet yesterday morning and it *didn't fill back up*, so I kinda knew that would be the day I'd probably better put the ol' grader blade on the ol' tractor and move some dirt. I never, ever woulda thought such a small exposed section of supply line 2-3' below grade would freeze off in mid-20's temps, but by golly...it did!

Oh, winter...must you? Really?

(And, yes, I got it filled in yesterday. Finally.
