So I am barely jumping into this world of backyard chickens. I want to raise chickens one for the experience of it and two for the eggs. We will be living in the city in Monrovia, Ca Los Angeles county. Currently we are in Fresno but will be moving very soon to LA. I am wanting to gather all the information needed before doing anything (buying cute little chicks). I love all the coops you guys design especially the ones with green roofs. I love the idea of a green roof especially if it keeps the chickens cool in the summer. What can you grow on a green roof? is it really a good idea?

    Welcome to BYC!

This thread from last month discusses green roofs.

I'm bringing it up even if it displays my ignorance of "cob" building construction . . . [IMG]
