   One broody hen will sometimes get off her eggs when she hears the other hen's hatch.

   On the MN prairie.

   I tried that once. I put them in a large dog crate, each with her own eggs and nest. They ended up breaking most of the eggs, and the ones that didn't break spoiled - I'm sure from bacteria from the broken ones. I would suggest not doing it.
