So what to do with the scraps from 2 chicken dinners - Chicken Salad and Chicken with Pineapple and Broccoli .

Use the bones and make another gallon of stock.

    Clean the pineapple top

Put it in a pot with potting soil. set it in a cool place out of direct sun and in about 2 weeks it will be completely rooted

and a lovely growing plant to join my others.

The rest of the broccoli stems and pineapple I pureed.

The ducks slowly came over to investigate.

    Then more.

    And more.

    And more. [IMG]

The geese like theirs with fresh grass too.

I don't think we wasted a thing! The pig even got some dinner scraps.

Series - 2 Chickens, a Pineapple, a Potted Plant, Ducks and Geese - chicken salad, chicken with pineapple and broccoli, a potted plant, ducks and geese .

I do plan to keep at least a trio. It looks like there may only be 3 hens in the entire lot and one of those I hatched myself.

The pineapple top will root. As it matures you can trick them into setting fruit.

They won't lay anytime soon. They are only 6 - 7 weeks old.
