A friend received this from Murray McMurray as the "exotic" included with their meat birds. This is my first polish-do you think its a male or female?

I'm not a Polish expert, but I believe it to be a pullet by the way the crest is shaped. Cockerels usually have an out of control punk rocker looking hair do

Yeah! I hope so-this breed is outside of my normal breeds so I am crossing my fingers :) Thank you!

I don't have experience with Polish, but that looks like a pullet.

I believe the rounder crests belong to the females. I'm glad your happy that she's a girl

Thanks to both of you! I breed Salmon Faverolles (and have a flock of variety of breeds) but have no idea with the crested. (And can't keep any more roos without building another coop-have 2 Fav roos in separate breeding coops and Lav Orp roo in main coop) I thought it looked like a girl (the poof) but the tail feathers not being fuller/even length, threw me a little (and can see tiny pink wattles under the beard). However there doesnt seen to be any lift on her tail, and I dont see any saddle feathers yet so was hoping someone familiar with this breed could give some insight! Thanks again!
