2 month old chiks and heat

Hi, I have my chiks out side in coop /run they have 90 percent shade and plenty of food and water , my concern it that they are panting and its in the lower 90s here in southern California im worried about heatstroke any and advice is greatly appreciated.

Put electrolytes in their water

We had temps like that recently and our chicks were fine. As long as they have plenty of water they should be ok.

If you give them a box of moist soil they will sit in it and cool off that way. They like that at a pretty young age

I just ordered some electrolyts from Amazonan, ill put a box in the coop/ run when I get home .

I put shallow trays of cool water in my run. Mine love to walk in. Helps them stay cool. Just have to clean out often cause they poop in it

Good luck!!I know how bad it feels to see them panting and you wish you could make them more comfortable. For some reason it makes me feel worse seeing a chicken pant then a dog and yet they are doing it for the same reason
