I have a partridge silkie chick and it made a sound that sounded like a crow. Is this possible? Does that mean that it is a rooster?

Welcome to BYC! [IMG]We're glad to have you. Yes, crowing is possible at this age, though my roosters usually start crowing a little later (6-8 weeks).

Hi there and welcome to BYC

Yes, they can start crowing early. BUT....babies can make all sorts of noises, so I would wait until you see other signs of being a rooster or a hen before making the final decision.

Great to have you aboard and enjoy BYC!

It is very possible for a cockerel to start crowing by that age - welcome to BYC.
