Is this common? They are newbies at it
From what I understand it will take a few weeks for them to get into a regular cycle. Three of my pullets started laying 4 days ago...so far it is hit or miss if and when they lay.
my pullet layed last tuesday, thursday, friday, sunday, monday, tues, and today again, I guess wednesdays are her day off lol
It's very normal for new pullets to lay sporadically for weeks til their "pipes" get all the kinks out!
Tuffoldhen*** Are those orpingtons in you avatar? They are beautiful! I hope for purple some day.
I kept the girls in the run today, there was a hungry looking red tailed hawk doing laps around the yard. One of the girls laid another egg but the guineas pecked the egg to death. My husband needs to get our coop built completely! I have officially lost my patience!
Quote:Yes'em those are some of my Lavender Orpington project girls! Very proud of those pump little butts! Wait til I can show off the next generation!!!
