Hello, we have 2 silkies chicks, which we hatched, they are 9 weeks old now but their is an obvious size difference between them, we dont know if the smaller one has something up with it? or it is just a different gender/breed? we got given the eggs to hatch.

Does anyone know the sex of these 2? and why one is smaller?
    Thanks

This is the larger one, pretty sure this is a boy?

I think the smallest one is a girl.. Looks girly to me.. The other two look roo-ish..

It's hard to tell from these photos, but do they have 5 toes? They may have another breed mixed in there. [IMG]

PS: they don't look pure to me.. [IMG] My silkie was twice as fluffy at a week younger.

    Lorraine is 11 weeks here

Lorraine is 8 weeks old here (day we got her)

Our rooster - Steve. Keep your eye out for large combs, streamers from the crest. I find Steve is a lot more coarse to touch than Lorraine's soft down feel.

The larger ones are normally the roos. You cant really go by that because my biggest silkie chick was a hen. The larger one looks like a roo though.
