I have 2 week old RIR girls and I am giving 2 of them away and wondering when it is safe? Their new home has a Rooster waiting on them.........also they will be outside (in a coop). When is it safe to let them go?[IMG]

You can let them go to their new home any time. Hatcheries deliver day olds. Putting them outside is another story all together. They need to be fully feathered, and the outside has to be at the right temp. The optimal temp is 95 to start and you reduce by 5 degrees each week until the brooder temp and the outside temp are about the same. You don't want to put babies in with a rooster until you're sure he won't kill them. Introductions are best done slowly and carefully.
