I am new to being a Chickie Momma, so I'm not sure what to do. I have a 2 week old Black Austarlorp and about 2 days ago, I heard the chick chirping a lot, more than usual. I noticed that she was chirping because she was straining to poop. The poop doesn't want to fully come out on its own and it's BIG. It just kind of hangs out in her vent. Her vent appears to completely become stretched and it starts to majorly bulge, like it's going to become prolapsed. I have to help her with getting the poop out with warm water and a q-tip. I've tried yogurt and giving her a few drops of warm water and olive oil, but no luck. I've also tried to put a little Vasaline around her vent to try and ease it out, but no luck. She eats a lot, and drinks fairly normally; maybe a little less than her siblings. Any suggestions on what may be going on with her and how I can better help her? Other than this pooping problem that seems painful to her, she appears healthy. Although, she has always been the sleepier one out of the bunch of 8.
