20-25 red ranger brooder questions

    we are getting 20- 25 red ranger chicks and we dont have much interior space to brood them in
    how space will we need?
    Is it ok to brood them out side? it is kinda cold here in SE alaska
    how long do they need to be in brooder?

    They need a pretty big brooder 25 to 30 sq. ft. You can brood them in a outside in a outbuilding, Just have a heat lamp to keep them warm. They need to stay under a lamp until they are almost feathered. Here in Texas I put them out at 3 to 4 weeks old. But its a lot warmer here than in Alaska

    also i have a 3 by 14 ft run with a 3 by 4 house i was going to build another house on the other end of the run how big do u think it needs to be?

    In the brooder I try to give the chicks at least 1 square foot per chick. When they get big, 5 square foot per chicken in the house and 10 square foot per chicken in the yard.
