I have 3 RIR and 2 have smaller combs than this one. They just started laying 2 days ago but I don't who is laying. But to me this one looks like a roo. Any thoughts?

I'm undecided on this one. My 1st instinct is to say its a Roo, but until I see its tail, I can't be sure. Are the tail feathers long bushy and with a green tinge?

I've had RIRs pullets who had combs/wattles that big when they were younger than that. She looks like a point of lay hen to me. [IMG] Photos of the whole body from the side would help, though.

It's really difficult to tell just by the comb and wattles at this age. Do you have a good fully body side shot? You can tell by the saddle and hackles if this is a roo or not. Right now I'm leaning toward hen.

Here is the whole flock with cocks & pullet before I sold all the cocks. I think yours is a pullet.[IMG] Can't remember the age maybe around 12 weeks.

I vote pullet. Laying or about to start laying.
