*****The MN Board of Animal Health requires all poultry, game birds, and turkeys to have the appropriate blood testing done. Birds must have a numbered band. The MPTL has a list of people who are authorized testing agents. Please contact one of these agents BEFORE the swaps to get your birds done. Their number is (320) 231-5170. The Board of Animal Health may have a representative at all of the swaps checking blood test papers.*****

*****From the MPTL.... For any questions, please call (320) 231-5170. For complete list of regulations go to https://www.revisor.mn.gov/rules/?id=1710
1710.1430 Identification: "If further testing is required, all poultry must be identified in such a way as to be individually found when the test is completed and all positive birds must be identified with a leg or wing band. Poultry tested for sale or exhibition must be identified with a leg or wing band."
1710.1310 Sale of Poultry and Hatching Eggs: "No person may sell, offer for sale, purchase, or trade poultry less than 5 months of age and their hatching eggs unless they originate from flocks and hatcheries under the supervision of the board and parts 1710.1300 to 1710.1530. Birds over5 months of age must be tested and be negative for the appropriate required tests before being sold, except those sold for immediate slaughter."
    * Required tests include Salmonella pullorum-typhoid. In addition, turkeys must be tested and negative for Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) and Mycoplasma synoviae (MS) prior to sale. The owner must receive and have the official test chart/report from the MPTL to verify results prior to the sale. The MN Board of Animal Health does not require testing for Avian Influenza (AI) at this time.*

That's the list that Doug Grams (BCPPA president) gave me. I would assume he meant the Sunday June 13th too. I think we had that one on a saturday last year though. I'll have to check with them to see when they booked the coliseum. I know they had also talked about additional summer and fall swaps but no dates set yet on those. Most would have to be over in St. James dues to conflicts with Heritagefest, Octoberfest, and the Brown County Fair in New Ulm.

I updated the list with a few more dates and corrections. Waverly IA I'm guessing is the 3rd week of April. That same sunday is generally the MN Pheasant & Waterfowl Swap in New Prague MN.

Coyotes were able to get a bunch of our ducks and geese in the last few weeks. The snow drifted over a whole corner of their fence and before I knew it there were piles of feathers and bloodtrails. I will definitely be on the lookout for a show quality African gander and more snowy mallards. We are also down to just 4 of the exhibition rouens now too.

I should probably have tons of silkie chicks available for sale this spring. I already have close to 70 out of the incubator within the last few weeks. We are also narrowing down to just the royal palm turkeys so will have some blue slates and a eastern wild tom that can go. There should be at least 6 extra young peafowl hatched last summer. If the cochins, call ducks, muscovies, etc ever start laying, I'll take orders on that stuff.
