Love my birds and all the fresh eggs and fun my kids and I have with them.
I just really hope ,our white male turkey will be able to live for a long time since those are breed for meat and I definetly do not plan on eating one of our pets!!

Maybe the secret to longevity is not letting him get overly plump and seeing that he gets exercise.

I know breeders have to be keeping some males for breeding purposes. If you go to "Other backyard poultry" forum you can find threads on turkeys, etc. I would think the turkey people could tell you what to do, so he has a long, happy life.

I have heard turkeys can be quite friendly and follow their people around like a dog. I hope he discovers the turkey fountain of youth. Why not? Glad you joined us at BYC.
