Of the Welp slo gro white broiler.. 2 weeks old 4-4-21, 49 chicks hatched and 49 still kicking, acv w/mother.. 2'x4' brooder outside under roof originally bedded with Bermuda yard clippings.. Not yet cleaned and I might just make the 3 weeks without.. Time saved and time is very important when you take on a lot.. The plan is 3 weeks and they weigh in as they go into the 4'x 8' tractor and then split among 2 of those tractors.. The 1st gen is 7 months yesterday and are some very good layers so far and the double yolkers are enormous.. You can't close an egg carton on them

Chicks moved to the tractor this am, hatched 3-22-21,, 18 days old today and all but one chick was over 8 ozs with an average of 8.4 ozs.. The parent stock had 1 red bird I Sold and this hatch has 1 red and 1 with a few black spots.. Included is our 10 month old farm pup getting in some sniffs and life experience.. I counted 48 chicks I likely mis counted as I didn't find 1 pasted to the floor.. So all is good, somewhere in this section there is likely a 3 week weigh date of someones ?
They could have been a shade heavier had they not run out of feed as often as they did.. We still have of the 1st 50lb bag and when it's gone the calculator says we'll have 36 cents in the,, "IF" we can bring them to weight on 10 bags current price or 500 lbs of feed the calculator say we'll have $3.67 in them.. Provided there's not loss and feed doesn't increase more.. Here's to the plan..

So here's what I was looking for, this will give me an apples to oranges comparison since these are not the common cx but another type of cornish cross I strongly suspect..

26 days old and they're an average of 1 lb 8 ozs.. They are gulping down the feed and water and look more the part at this point.. I am quite happy with our purchase so far.. I put 70 eggs in the bator Thursday night and will put them on CL after hatching.. Crawling around a 24" tall tractor to get weights was a chitty experience but it is what farming is all about..

Fresh move and they love the clover, it will be devoured by this time tomorrow.. These guys appear to have reproduced themselves.. Thick legs and some toe curling, now to see if we get the same 1 lb gain that we got from 18-to 26 days..

Sorry if I missed it. But did you buy these chicks, or hatch them from broilers you bought and didn’t process?
I’ve currently got some rainbow rangers, and I’m hoping I can at least keep a few pullets and breed them to a large heritage rooster to raise my own. I free range, and pasture raise. So my growth rate is much slower. But still incredibly fast compared to the heritage birds.
